We loved having JP at the Jubilee Club. He was kind, caring and had a very funny sense of humour. He loved all the singing and dancing we did. He is missed by us all.

I remember the first time I met Jean-Pierre, at a meal several years ago. I recall we talked about spaceflight, and agreed that rocket science wasn't necessarily hard. But that rocket engineering certainly was! A lovely man.

A quiet, soft spoken man, I always enjoyed a good chat with Jean-Pierre. A bit of a nerd like me, he was interested and interesting to talk with, and I was proud to have him as a brother-in-law. His Belgian approach to life could at times mean a rant at the injustices or stupidities of the world, or a shake of the head at the madness of it all. A quiet glass of Chimay beer, some quiet jazz on, and the world was at rights again.
